The Blackline helical LSD can also be fitted to some of the more modern sporty Peugeot and Citro\u00ebn models that use the BE4 5-speed manual transmission.<\/span><\/span> Applications:- <\/span><\/span>Citroen CV4 VTS (177 hp) <\/span><\/span>Citroen Xsara VTS <\/span><\/span>Citroen BX 16v <\/span><\/span>Citroen ZX 16v <\/span><\/span>Citroen C4 VTR <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 205 1.6 \/ 1.9 GTi <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 206 2.0 liter CC <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 206 GTi 180 \/ 138 <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 206 GTi and GTi 180 <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 207 GT & GTi THP 175 <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 207 HDi <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 306 GTi-6 \/ Rallye \/ S16 \/ D-Turbo \/ HDi <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 307 XSi <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 307 HDi <\/span><\/span>Peugeot 309 GTi \/ GTi-16 <\/span><\/span>Peugeot<\/span><\/span> 405 Mi16 \/ LeMans Peugeot \/ Citroen BE4R gearbox Helical LSD Advantages:- Equal rotation speed to both wheels Torque distributed according to traction Minimal service requirements - no clutches Quick response compared to viscous LSDs Soft and progressive engagement, low noise Easy to control PTO and drift Gears and body manufactured from 8620 alloy steel Direct replacement in standard differential Blackline Helical LSDs - How They Work The Blackline helical LSDs are torque biased, that is, they distribute torque between the wheels, loading more torque to the wheel with the best traction, improving performance and handling.<\/span><\/span> Especially in low-grip situations.<\/span><\/span> The helical gearing controls the distribution of friction within the LSD.<\/span><\/span> When torque is applied to the helical gear system, it creates force that pushes the gear into the differential body, creating friction.<\/span><\/span> Increase in torque, increases thrust directly proportional to the amount of torque.<\/span><\/span> This allows the Blackline LSD to handle significant traction imbalances even under severe power conditions, as would be the case when exiting a high-powered corner.<\/span><\/span> But at low torque conditions, the LSD can differentiate quietly and smoothly, making the differential very suitable for normal road driving.<\/span><\/span> The Blackline LSD uses the popular parallel shaft-helical gear configuration optimized for even load distribution.<\/span><\/span> They are designed with a 5:1 torque distribution, meaning that if one wheel loses traction, the wheel with the most grip can receive five times as much torque as the wheel that is slipping.<\/span><\/span> However, five times zero is still zero, so all these helical LSDs work best when both wheels are \"planted\" and some traction is still available on the slipping wheel.<\/span><\/span> In practice, this is rarely a problem because there is always some \"drag\" on the slipping wheel, but some drivers skillfully use the left foot brake to partially block the spinning wheel.<\/span><\/span> Note - Helical LSDs work especially well in conjunction with modern anti-lock braking systems.<\/span><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
